Do they call you the posture guru?
I’m Dr. Steven Weiniger, and I love when I’ve just met someone and they say something like
“Sally says you’re her Posture Guru!”
If you’re like me, it feels really, really good. Which is why I want to help you feel great when people in your town call YOU their posture guru. It’s a process that begins by simply asking about their posture. The query creates awareness, and then they stand taller, a bit differently, maybe even better…for 20 or 30 seconds.
The challenge: What’s next? And what comes after that? If you know posture is about a lot more than simplistic Pinterest stretches and Youtube exercise videos, then we’re on the same page.
Since 2003 I’ve traveled around the world teaching professionals how to actionably engage people to functionally strengthen their posture. You may remember seeing people on a large blue exercise balls when I presented at a conference or training in your area. Or perhaps you’ve read my book- Stand Taller-Live Longer: A Posture & Anti-aging Strategy. You may have a PostureZone grid, app or other StrongPosture tool, or have browsed BodyZone.com for alternative health information, or know someone who completed the CPEP® certified posture exercise professional program from PosturePractice.com, or maybe you participated in our annual May campaign for PostureMonth.org.
Bottom line- if you know me, you know I’m all about posture. In 2020, the Covid lockdown was a blessing in disguise because it gave me the opportunity to finally complete a longtime goal: An at-home posture care program designed to make it easy for professionals to teach StrongPosture. Posture issues have been a growing epidemic with today’s tech habits. For many, the problem has been aggravated with working from home and sitting slumped on a sofa for 8 hours a day.
